Nagashima Ready For Indianapolis Adventure

Tetsuta Nagashima is looking forward to his first race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 22-year-old worked hard in the practice and qualifying session to try and improve his time from yesterday. He knows that he needs to work with his team to improve his performance in three particular corners in time for the race tomorrow. The team and Testuta will use warm up to make these improvements.

In an incident and crash-strewn qualifying, once again it was tight, with the top 12 covered by a second and the top 31 riders covered by under two seconds. Tetsuta took 30th position just one tenth of a second behind former world champion Nicolas Terol.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike rider: best lap 1'38.638s

“I struggled very much this morning as I didn't have same feeling at all as yesterday without having changed much since the last free practice, and even trying back to the completely same setting as yesterday, I still didn't feel the same and this had made me confused how we set up the bike for qualifying session. After the qualifying, I've learned that there were some other riders who had similar problem like me so that this might happened due to the change of track condition. Anyway, thanks to our mechanics, they tried to find a way, and I could improve my lap time, but still not enough as the other riders improved further. I know I only lose time on three particular corners, otherwise I can follow fast guys at all the rest of the corners. Now I know that we have to find the solution for these three corners, and we would try it tomorrow at the warm up. When I push hard, I easy lose front so that makes things difficult. We definitely need to find the solution, setting up the bike with having less risk to complete the race but to make me possible to push harder.”
