The Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Primed To Fly High In Czech Republic

After the Indianapolis Grand Prix, the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 is straight back in action this weekend for the Czech Republic Grand Prix, which takes place at the Brno circuit, a classic venue of the championship characterized by sweeping and fast bends.

A race which on the paper is well suited to Xavier Siméon’s riding style: the Belgian rider, forced to retire in Indianapolis, is eager to finally get a result that can reverse the course of the second part of the season after some unlucky races.

On the other side of the garage, Lorenzo Baldassarri will try to enter into the points scoring positions aboard the Team Gresini Moto2 Suter, being not able to add points to his ranking following a disappointing qualifying at Indy: started back in 32nd place, the Italian rookie, however, made a good recovery up to 17th place. Baldassarri’s first goal in Brno is therefore to be more consistent on Saturday, in order to get a more advanced position on the grid.

XAVIER SIMEON “In Brno our goal number one is to ensure that luck turns on our side... Unfortunately, even in Indianapolis we didn’t get a reward for our efforts, paying a very high price for a small mistake. A pity, because in the race the situation had improved compared to practice and I was feeling comfortable. The Brno circuit is very beautiful and I think that our Suter machine may be competitive there: we have all we need to do well, but considering what happened in Indy, I prefer not to make any predictions”.

LORENZO BALDASSARRI “I’m looking forward to Brno, a fast track that I think will suit my riding style. Personally, I will try to get more physically fit than in Indianapolis, that was a really tough race from this point of view; regarding the bike, we will try some set-up adjustments to make it easier to ride. Finally, and most important, we must absolutely avoid to repeat the disappointing qualifying of Indianapolis: I would like to start well in practice, in order to be well prepared for the qualifications and therefore obtain a good starting position”.

FAUSTO GRESINI “We get back on track only a few days after a very disappointing weekend and honestly in this situation it’s difficult to make predictions. In one week, nothing changes, so we will only try to start the weekend with the right attitude and continue to progress avoiding mistakes, in order to get to the race prepared and competitive. The Brno track definitely has the characteristics that are well suited to our bikes and our riders, so this time we hope to be able to go home satisfied”.
