Antonelli And Bastianini Gunning For Glory At Fast And Flowing Brno

Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 youngsters, Niccolò Antonelli and Enea Bastianini, will be looking for a good result in the Czech Republic Grand Prix which takes place this weekend, on the fast and flowing Brno track, which on the paper is well suited to their characteristics.

Niccolò Antonelli will still have to deal with his right collarbone injury, which prevented him to get into the points at Indianapolis due to lack of strength in the final stages of the race: the 18-year-old rider from Cattolica, however, is confident that he can attack in a less challenging circuit from a physical point of view like Brno.

His teammate, Enea Bastianini, collected 5 points in Indy thanks to an 1tth place finish: a positive result considering the off-track excursion during the early stages of the race, which caused him to lose contact with the leading group. The 16-year-old rookie, however, is determined to return to fight at the top since he has repeatedly shown the potential to succeed.

NICCOLO' ANTONELLI “From a physical point of view, Brno is a less demanding track than Indianapolis, so I think I will have less problems: in fact in Indy the real problem was not the pain on my right shoulder, but the strength that have started to decline after only a few laps. In addition, a week of rest will definitely help me to get in a better shape. I love Brno and I definitely want to return to attack”.

ENEA BASTIANINI “I know Brno, having raced there in 2013 with the MotoGP Rookies Cup, and I really like it: unfortunately, last year the race didn’t go well, but also in the last races there was always something that prevented us from collecting a good result... Anyway we keep thinking positive, because we know that we have a good potential and I think we can do well in Brno. To do so, however, it will be important to make a better strategy during the qualifications to prevent traffic in order to obtain a more advanced position on the grid, which certainly makes things easier”.

FAUSTO GRESINI “We are back to Europe on a very nice track that gave us many satisfactions in the past, so we hope to reverse the trend and finally collect a good result. Both Bastianini and Antonelli have a great desire to stay on front, and no doubt they have the potential to succeed: Enea is going very fast although recently there has always been something that has prevented him from getting what he deserved, while Niccolò, although not yet completely healed, will surely be in a better physical condition, so he will be able to attack”.
