Turner Scott Motorsports NKNPSE Preview: Virginia International Raceway

Virginia International Raceway...The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) heads to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) for the 14th race of the 2014 season, the Biscuitville 125. This marks the second annual event at the Virginia circuit for the NKNPSE, as Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) returns to defend Dylan Kwasniewski's 2013 victory. Scott Heckert, who was victorious for TSM at Watkins Glen one week ago, looks to continue that success while making his second-career start at VIR. Meanwhile, Kaz Grala, Brandon Jones, Ben Rhodes and Cameron Hayley will all make their first-career starts at VIR this weekend. All five TSM teams tested at VIR a few weeks ago in preparation for this weekend's race.

Kaz Grala...Grala looks ahead to more left and right turns, coming off a career-best finish of fourth one week ago at Watkins Glen. The youngest full-time driver in the NKNPSE looks to continue his streak of five straight top-10 finishes. Grala brings the No. 31 OzLINK Chevrolet into VIR sitting sixth in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings.

Kaz Grala on racing at VIR:
"After our best finish yet at Watkins Glen, we have some momentum going into VIR. We were able to test at VIR, so I actually am going to have more laps there than I did at Watkins Glen. We're definitely excited going into it and I hope to get another solid finish for the No. 31 OzLINK team."

Brandon Jones...Jones is coming off a solid-run of his own, as the 17-year-old put together a masterful run, overcoming some mid-race adversity to bring home a sixth-place finish at Watkins Glen. The young gun looks for more of the same this weekend at VIR, which marks the second-career NKNPSE road course start for Jones in the No. 33 Wolfpack Energy Services Chevrolet. Jones sits third in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings, just seven points out of second position.

Brandon Jones on this upcoming weekend at VIR:
"We had a great run for the No. 33 Wolfpack Energy Services team last weekend at Watkins Glen, and hopefully we can continue upon that this weekend at VIR. We've obviously got a road course car with quite a bit of speed behind it and, following last week's race, I think we should be able to run up towards the front all weekend long."

Scott Heckert...Heckert heads into VIR with not only renewed confidence, but the opportunity to make it two-for-two in this season's road course events. The 20-year-old put on a show for the New York crowd a week ago at the Glen, and the Conn. Native looks for more of the same this weekend at VIR. Heckert brought home a eighth-place finish at VIR one year ago, which marked one of two top 10s for the young driver in 2013. Heckert brings the No. 34 Project Lifesaver Chevrolet to VIR sitting ninth in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings.

Scott Heckert on VIR:
"Coming off the win at Watkins Glen, I feel really confident heading into VIR. After testing there, we had a really solid car, so I think we will have a good shot to make it two-for-two on the road courses with the No. 34 Project Lifesaver team."

Ben Rhodes...Rhodes enters this weekend at VIR coming off a spectacular run of his own. The NASCAR Next driver was able to put together quite the comeback performance after spinning early in the race, recovering for a third-place finish in the No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet. The finish came in the first road course event of his career. Rhodes leads the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings by 75 points heading into VIR.

Ben Rhodes on racing at VIR:
"A few weeks back, all the Turner Scott Motorsports K&N drivers tested at VIR. That was my first time to sit in a K&N car and turn laps on a road course. Before we could really tune on the car, I had to get comfortable with racing on the road course, including my braking points and shifting points. We then tuned on the car, and by the end of the test, [crew chief] Mark McFarland and my Alpha team had my car pretty fast. I think we will have a great showing this weekend."

Cameron Hayley...Hayley comes into VIR looking for some redemption from Watkins Glen a week earlier. Hayley was one of the fastest cars on track at VIR, until a flat left-front tire took the 18-year-old out of the race lead. Hayley was able to recover, eventually gaining the free pass and working back into the top 10 to bring home an eighth-place finish with the No. 98 Cabinets by Hayley Chevrolet. This weekend marks Hayley's first NKNPSE start at VIR. The young driver sits second in the NKNPSE Driver Point Standings, currently 75 points out of the championship lead.

Cameron Hayley on running at VIR:
"I'm really looking forward to VIR this weekend. We had one of the fastest cars at Watkins Glen a week ago, and had it not been for the flat tire early on in the race, I think we would've been contending for the win. I'm ready to get to VIR this weekend and show everyone what this No. 98 Cabinets by Hayley team is made of and grab our first victory."
