2014 Michigan II: NASCAR Sprint Cup Qualifying Results - Gordon, Chevrolet On Pole At 206.5 Mph!

Jeff Gordon and his No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 45th Annual Pure Michigan 400 with a track qualifying record lap of 34.857 seconds, 206.558 mph. The previous record was 204.557 mph/35.198 seconds, set by Kevin Harvick in June of 2014. This is the seventh-fastest pole winning speed in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history and the 17th track qualifying record set during the 2014 season. This is also Gordon's 76th pole in 748 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, he is third on the all-time series poles list. In addition, this is his second pole and 14th top-10 start in 2014. He also won the pole at Watkins Glen, last week. Plus, this is his sixth pole in 44 races at Michigan International Speedway.

Joey Logano and his No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford posted his 18th top-10 start of 2014 and his sixth in 12 races at Michigan International Speedway.

Carl Edwards and his No. 99 Ford EcoBoost Ford posted his fourth top-10 start at Michigan International Speedway. It is his eighth in 23 races this season.

Brian Vickers and his No. 55 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota was fourth quick with Brad Keselowski and his No. 2 Miller Lite Ford rounding out the top five.

Overall, 43 NASCAR Sprint Cup entries attempted to qualify for Sunday's race.
