Nagashima Aiming For Improvements Tomorrow

Young Moto2 rider Tetsuta Nagashima is aiming to make some big changes to the set up of his machine in tomorrow’s warm-up in a bid to increase his consistent pace before the 20-lap race.

The 22-year-old was frustrated by his pace today in the qualifying session, but he intends to work hard tomorrow in warm-up to make some big improvements before the race.

Series leader Esteve Rabat took pole position from Swiss rider Thomas Luthi and Sandro Cortese. Rabat’s team-mate and second in the championship standings Mika Kallio was set for a higher grid position but he crashed in the dying seconds of the session. He starts from sixth place tomorrow.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike rider: best lap 2’04.897s

“I'm very disappointed with my position on qualifying today. We made a big change with the setting since yesterday which had made me feel more comfortable on the bike than yesterday and I also improved my lap time but it wasn't enough and not all that I expected. It is the same as Indianapolis, I'm losing only at certain corners and all the rest of the points of the track were OK. It's really frustrating but we have to keep working for its solution. I still need to find at least one second and find it consistently, so I'll work with my engineers referring to all the telemetry data for tomorrow’s warm-up. In any case, I never give up and will be ready to give my best in the race.”

Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, Brno – Qualifying results:

4. Sam LOWES - 2'02.322s - +0.411s

5. Simone CORSI - 2'02.514s - +0.603s

34. Tetsuta NAGASHIMA – 2’04.897s - +2.986s
