2014 Milwaukee: Andretti Autosport IndyCar Qualifying Recap

Marco Andretti, No. 25 Snapple Honda

The two-time Milwaukee polesitter will take the grid from the 9th position, his eighth top-nine start this season
Enters the IndyFest weekend ranked 10th in the points standings, still mathematically in contention for the series title
"We hit the deck, we bottomed, which really made me have to come off the gas. The good thing is we have 250 laps on our side. Obviously we wanted a Verizon P1 trophy but we've been having problems since we rolled off, so we have to be happy with a top-10 start. We can get the job done from there, hopefully."

James Hinchcliffe, No. 27 United Fiber & Data Honda

Held the top speed in both practice sessions at the historic 1-mile oval

Despite making contact with the wall late in the second practice session, the Canadian was able to qualify and will start 13th for the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250

"Honestly, mechanically the car was fine. Nothing in our qualifying performance comes from any ill effects from the crash. The UFD guys did a great job getting the car fixed, so huge thanks to them for that. We just missed it. The track changed quite a bit, we had a little problem in (Turns) 3 and 4 on the first flyer and it just got worse in the second lap so we did what we could. I think the race car is still pretty good, we as a team just missed it a little bit today."

Ryan Hunter-Reay, No. 28 DHL Honda

The three-time Milwaukee race winner holds the third fastest time of the weekend on the practice reports and sits third in the championship points standings

Will roll off from the 19th grid position for tomorrow's 250-lap race

"We just missed the balance entirely today in qualifying - it wasn't even close. Unfortunately, we are going to have to pay for it tomorrow. I just hope we get out of the first couple of stints on the lead lap the way things are going right now. We've had great cars here in the past in the race, but just missed it here in qualifying. It's pretty frustrating, but we can rebound tomorrow."

Carlos Muñoz, No. 34 Cinsay Honda

Seventh in the championship fight and still mathematically in contention for the title

Will take the grid on Milwaukee Mile's front straight in the 20th position

"I was really disappointed in qualifying. We didn't expect to be so far in the rear. Generally, this team has dominated at this track the last couple of years. Today just wasn't our day in general. We'll see tomorrow for sure. Starting position is really important at this track, as is track position. In IndyCar, anything can happen. You just need a little bit of luck with the yellow flags. Hopefully we'll have a good car in traffic and on long runs tomorrow. Tire degradation is a big issue here, so hopefully we can have less than anyone and just go to the front."
