2014 Michigan: Timothy Peters NASCAR Truck Race Recap

Timothy Peters started the No. 17 Fast Eddie's/Valvoline Toyota Tundra from the third position and drove to a seventh-place finish in the Careers for Veterans 200 at Michigan International Speedway. The No. 17 team demonstrated solid speed during the two practice sessions on Friday afternoon, posting the 10th and 11th fastest lap times, respectively, around the two-mile Brooklyn, Michigan race track.

Peters advanced to the third round of qualifying on Saturday morning and in a strange final knock-out session where only one truck made it across the start-finish line to log a lap time, earned the third starting position with his fast time from the second round. When the green flag dropped he reported that the red and white Toyota Tundra was a little tight through the center of the turns. He battled back into the top five after the first round of green-flag pit stops. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran told crew chief Marcus Richmond that he felt a slight vibration. During their second and final pit stop of the afternoon on lap 75, the Fast Eddie's/Valvoline pit crew serviced the No. 17 machine with four tires, fuel, a shock and chassis adjustment to combat the increasingly tight condition. As the green-flag pit stops cycled through, Peters found himself in the seventh position, where he remained and took the checkered flag.

Timothy Peters Quote:
"We had a really solid Fast Eddie's/Valvoline Toyota Tundra today. The guys had great green-flag pit stops and kept us up there in the top 10. I want to thank Fast Eddie's for joining us for today's race. We had a great group of guests here, and I hope they had a good time today at Michigan International Speedway. We have a quick turnaround this week so we're already thinking about our race at Bristol (Motor Speedway) on Wednesday."
