The 22-year-old Japanese rider crashed at turn three on the Brno circuit with 17 laps to go, ending his race prematurely. At the front of the race, championship leader Esteve Rabat won, from team-mate Mika Kallio and Sandro Cortese. In two weeks time the championship reconvenes at Silverstone in the UK.

Tetsuta Nagashima, Teluru team JiR Webike’s rider: best lap 2m 05.228s

“Unfortunately my weekend finished with lots of disappointment in the end thanks to the crash. The setting we had tried this morning for warm-up didn't work, so we went back to the setting from yesterday's qualifying with some adjustment for the race. The way we had gone was correct and I was having quite a good feeling until I was hit by Azlan and fell off the bike. My start was not too bad, and I overtook some guys and when I just started to have a quite good confidence and ready to push harder, my race was forced to finish thanks to the crash. This track was not an easy one for me and there are still lots of points that have to be improved, but the weekend had passed so quick I need to get to the next race. The good thing was that I wasn't hurt. I had some scarring on my knee and hit my head quite hard but nothing too serious. I'm going back to Japan now and have some time after two consecutive races and will come back to UK in a good shape again.”
