Bourdais, who is in his ninth season, made his 129th career IndyCar start today, just his 20
th on oval and sixth on the Milwaukee Mile. Bourdais qualified the No. 11 Team MISTIC E-Cigs - KVSH Racing Chevrolet/Dallara/Firestone machine 18th, but had a strong start to the race and was sitting in 13th place at the conclusion of the first round of pit stops. During the next two stints, Bourdais fought his way up to seventh place on the challenging one-mile oval, however following his third pit stop was back to 10th. Over the final 117 laps of the 250 lap contest, the 35-year-old Frenchman continued to battle, but a couple of on-track incidents lost him some track position and he ended up a hard-fought 12th.

Commenting on the race Bourdais said, "It was a bit of a tough race for the Mistic E-Cigs - KVSH Racing team. We showed pace sometimes and sometimes we struggled...both on and off the track. We will learn from it. We just have to go back to school and make it better. Overall it was a pretty solid race."

Bourdais, the only driver to win four consecutive series championships (2004-2007), earned 18 points today an now sits ninth in the standings with 418 points on the strength of seven top-10 finishes including five top-five showings, two podium performances with one win (Toronto Race 1).

Of Bourdais' 20 career oval starts, seven in Champ Car and 13 in IndyCar, 11 have come in the last two years. He scored four wins in Champ Car including one from the pole at Milwaukee. His best oval finish in an Indy car is this year's seventh place showing Indianapolis 500.

In his six starts on the Milwaukee Mile, Bourdais has finished in the top-10 three times, all in Champ Cars, including the win from the pole on the in 2006. Today's 12th place finish is his best in two IndyCar starts in Milwaukee (finished 22nd last year).

Next up for KVSH Racing is the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, August 23-24, at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California. The race will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network beginning at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, August 24. It can also be heard live on IMS Radio Network affiliates, XM Channel 209, Sirius Channel 213 IndyCar.com, IndyCarRadio.com or via the Verizon IndyCar14 app.
