Goodyear, NASCAR Canada

Home cooking is good. Hometown racing is better.

Just ask NASCAR racer Donald Chisholm.

Racing in his hometown on a track owned by his family, Chisholm collected his first ever NASCAR Canadian Tire Series victory when he won the Wilson Equipment Rental 300 at Riverside International Speedway.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Series. The bias-ply racing slicks used by Canada’s premiere short track racing program are manufactured at Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Akron, Ohio. That is the same facility where Goodyear produces the tires for NASCAR’s Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck programs.

Chisholm averaged 58.813 mph for the 300-lap chase around Riverside’s .333-mile oval. He led four times after starting on the pole position, including the final 60 laps. His margin of victory was a comfortable 2.682 seconds.

Alex Labbe finished second, followed by D.J. Kennington, Andrew Ranger and Mark Dilley. Chisholm won the pole with a lap averaging 82.443 mph.

L.P. Dumoulin leads the standings with 337 points. Ranger is next with 311.

Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
