The Pro Mazda Series will begin testing on the 2.385 mile 12-turn at Sonoma Raceway this Thursday August 21st followed by practice, qualifying and Round 13 Friday August 22nd. The final round of the season, Round 14, takes place Saturday August 23rd.

Leading the championship, Spencer Pigot, 20, who drives the #7 Doug Mockett & Company/Rising Star Racing/VitaminPro App/California Scents/Juncos Racing car has been a stand out driver in the series claiming five poles and six wins. Even when facing times of bad luck this season Kyle Kaiser, 18, driving #18 InterVision/NetApp/JuniperNetworks/ Riverbed/ Juncos Racing car has consistently been one of the fastest cars on track recording three podiums. One of the youngest drivers in the series, José Gutiérrez, 17, driving the #5 Racing for Mexico/Juncos Racing car was awarded his first pole in his Pro Mazda career, took home one podium and two Top-5 finishes in his rookie season. Becoming the first female to compete in the United States from Argentina, rookie Julia Ballario, 22, driving the #6 Pistas Argentinas/Argetina Art/Juncos Racing car has impressed many with her drive and confidence behind the wheel while taking home multiple Top-10’s and one Top-5 finish.

Going into the final race of the 2014 season Juncos Racing Team Owner, Ricardo Juncos, feels confident his team will be prepared for a close battle for the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship.

“Continuing to keep the team focused on each race is shown through our results,” said Juncos. “We have prepared so much for each race this season and the drivers have done all they can on track even when uncontrollable circumstances have prevented them from getting the results they deserved. Each driver has grown a lot in the last 12 races and I couldn’t be more proud of the time and dedication they have put into this team. The crew has put so much hard work into this season to give each driver the best car and I cannot thank them enough. This has been one of the closest championships in the past few years so we need to keep our heads down and stay focused this weekend at Sonoma. I want to thank all of the drivers and crew for giving 100% each weekend, the sponsors who help make this all possible, our supporters, and families they make up Juncos Racing.”

The 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season comes to an end this weekend August 21-23rd with a double header at Sonoma Raceway.
