Fall-Line Motorsports CTSC VIR Preview

Ashley Freiberg returns to Fall-Line Motorsports once again for the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSC) race this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Freiberg will join Andrew Longe who is competing in his third professional SportsCar race as regular Shelby Blackstock has a conflict with his open-wheel season. Points leader Trent Hindman and co-driver John Edwards are in the hunt for the GS Championship with just three races remaining in 2014 and are hungry to add to their trophy collection. The pair of BMW M3s have historically been strong at the 3.27-mile track. The last time the CTSC series visited VIR, Fall-Line started from the pole position and finished third and fourth in the race.

John Edwards: "It's been a few years since I raced at VIR. It was a great track before and they've updated the curbs and re-paved the entire track so there should be a lot of grip, which will make the track even faster, and flow even better. Trent is still leading the Championship and we're entering the last few races so the target is clearly to keep finishing well so that we can maintain the lead."

Trent Hindman: "As we enter the closing stages of the season it is ever so important that we continue to finish at the front. It is imperative that we maintain the flawless strategy and pit stops and I know the entire Fall-Line team is capable of performing at the highest level. Once again I have to thank our sponsors partners Trim-Tex, Cirocco & Ozzimo, Atlas Acon, and DFL Interiors for all of their support."

#48 Starstruck/ Trianon Hotels/ Fall-Line Motorsports BMW driver quotes:

Ashley Freiberg: "I am so thankful to be back in the Fall-Line Motorsports BMW! While I haven't driven since the race at Kansas, I have been working very hard to get back in the seat and am definitely itching to drive! Truthfully right now I feel a little bit like a kid in a candy store; just really excited to be back with a great team, in a great car, doing what I love most! Hard work pays off!"

Andrew Longe: "I am looking forward to this weekend as we head into the 10th round of the
Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship at Virginia international Raceway. This will be the third race of the season for me and I am looking forward to building off of our accomplishments from Road America. Although Shelby is not able to be in the car this weekend, I believe Ashley and I will be a strong pairing and a strong result will prove this. It is an honor for me to work with a driver with such great experience and talent such as Ashley. I am really looking forward to learning from this weekend and putting it towards the remaining races of the season and next year so we can go for a championship."

Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager: "Great to be back at VIR and see the wonderful job they have done to the facility with all the improvements. As always we are excited to get the Fall-Line BMWs on track and start the race weekend. This Championship is super competitive and it is great to see how strong the BMW has been as we look forward to the last 3 events. "

Practice begins August 22 with practice sessions at 8a and 12:45p ET and qualifying at 5:10p ET. The 2.5-hour race begins on August 23 at 2:05p ET and can be seen LIVE on imsa.com.
