2014 Belgium GP (Spa): Formula One F1 Practice Two Results - Hamilton, Mercedes Fastest!

The Formula One F1 series has completed practice session two for the 2014 Belgium Grand Prix GP at the Spa Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium. Leading the way was Lewis Hamilton and his No. 44 Mercedes with a best lap of 1:49.189 out of a total 26 turned during the afternoon.

Second quick was Nico Rosberg and his No. 6 Mercedes with a lap that was six tenths back at 1:49.793. Hamilton and Rosberg are the two contenders for the 2014 Formula One drivers championship title, and have had a number of contentious moments through out the season.

Best of the rest for the second straight session was Fernando Alonso and his No. 14 Ferrari with a lap of 1:49.930 which was seven tenths clear of Hamilton.

Felipe Massa and his No. 19 Williams-Mercedes was fourth quick with Jenson Button and his No. 22 McLaren-Mercedes rounding out the top five times of the day.

Valtteri Bottas and his No. 77 Williams-Mercedes was sixth fastest followed by Daniil Kvyat (STR-Renault), Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull Racing-Renault), Kevin Magnussen (McLaren-Mercedes), and Nico Hulkenberg (Force India-Mercedes).

Overall, 20 Formula One F1 entries set timed laps during the practice. Sebastian Vettel was sidelined with electrical problems left over from the earlier practice. Next up, will be practice session three on Saturday ahead of qualifying for the 2014 Belgium Grand Prix GP.
