"Well, that wasn't the best of races. It wasn't a great start - I was on the outside heading into Turn 2 and it seemed like they all went across the grass, so I had to avoid some people running wide... I got squeezed down. I was able to make up a couple of positions, and from there on out it was a matter of struggling with the traction. We had no traction off the slow corners - I felt like we were quite quick everywhere else except for the two slow corners, so we've got to sort those out somehow and we'll keep working at it. Big thanks to United Fiber & Data and MAZDASPEED for all their support and my Andretti Autosport guys for all the hard work they put in every weekend."

Zach Veach, No. 26 RePLAY XD
• Three-time Indy Lights race winner came across the finish line in the seventh position
• Indianapolis resident will roll off the grid from the eighth position for Race Two on Sunday

"Very disappointed and heartbroken in a way. This was a really important weekend for us for the championship, and the first race kind of ended a little rough. We didn't have a great car in qualifying so we were starting from the back to begin with, and we ended up hitting a curb maybe a little too hard or something went wrong, and something bent in the steering of the car. We had to do the rest of the race with a crooked wheel, and with something like that, you can't push very hard because the whole balance is off. I just want to thank my RePLAY XD Andretti Autosport guys for working so hard this weekend; they built this championship for me. They just continue to do a great job, but we've got a lot of work to do if we want to try to rebound. Big thank you to them and RePLAY XD."

SONOMA RACEWAY: SEASON FINALE RACE REPORT

Shelby Blackstock, No. 28 Starstruck
• Nashville native captured his 13th career podium finish for today's Pro Mazda season finale coming home in the third position after starting from sixth
• Clinches the fourth spot in the championship points standings (unofficial)
"We'll definitely take a P3 finish from where we started (P6). The first couple of practice sessions we were about two seconds off, so we'll definitely take a podium. Unfortunately it's another third-place finish - it's been a pretty brutal season for us. To come out of this weekend with a podium just shows how hard the No. 28 crew worked, so big thank you to them."

Garett Grist, No. 27 Lander Property Management/DaVinci Foods
• Rookie maneuvered his way up to the ninth position after starting 15th on the Northern California track for today's Race Two
• Today's finish marked the 19-year-old's 11th top-10 finish

"Overall it was a rough weekend for us to finish off the year. It's always good to finish off strong and go into the off-season in a good mood, and unfortunately we weren't able to do that this weekend. We didn't have the pace to be honest. We were running 14th, 15th, 16th all weekend - rough time for us. Have to thank Lander Property Management, DaVinci Foods, Sofina Foods, Sparco, Bell Helmets and most importantly my family for their support and hopefully we'll have a strong 2015."
