Jimmy Weller Back in Victory Lane at Sharon Speedway

For the second time this season, Jimmy Weller drove to victory lane at Sharon Speedway on Saturday night after securing the win in the big block dirt modified division at the Hartford, Ohio track. Weller, who is racing a limited schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season, led every lap of the 20-lap feature en route to a dominating victory in the No. 23 Liberty Steel Products / TFI Transportation / Hughes Construction modified.

"We had a great race tonight at Sharon Speedway," commented Weller. "It took us a few weeks to get going this season, but it's been a great year so far and I'm so blessed to have two race wins at Sharon Speedway so far this year. I'm really proud of the effort of my team, and so happy to get back to victory lane with Liberty Steel Products, TFI Transportation, Hughes Construction, Hines Race Engines and Troyer Race Cars."

Weller finished third in his heat race, but took the outside pole position for the feature race through an inverted starting order. The second-generation racer took the lead entering turn one on the first lap, and never looked back.

This year, the big block dirt modified division at Sharon Speedway can be summed up in two words--Weller and King. The father-son duo of Jimmy Weller and his father, Jim Weller, Jr., have faced off head-to-head nearly every weekend with another father-son duo Rex King, Sr. and Rex King, Jr. This week's feature race was no different as Weller faced a hard-charging King Sr. and King Jr. throughout a series of four cautions and subsequent restarts over the course of the 20-lap race. Weller was able to maintain the lead throughout the duration of the event and led the field to the checkered flag.

"The competition this season at Sharon Speedway has been so tight," Weller continued. "In nearly 15 races, we've only had five guys get to victory lane. So to be able to say that I've been there twice is really a testament to the hard work my team has put in this season. I know I've said it before, but being able to race in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and here at Sharon Speedway has been a dream come true--I'm so blessed to be living my dream right now."

Weller started his racing career when he was just 15 years old while racing in the big block dirt modified division at Sharon Speedway. While continuing to race at his home track, Weller is also taking on the competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series while racing the No. 08 Geneva-Liberty Steel Chevrolet Silverado for SS Green Light Racing. Most recently, Weller finished 19th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Thursday afternoon.
