Fans to Get An Early Preview of DAYTONA Rising at 2015 Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola

Daytona International Speedway (DIS) President Joie Chitwood III unveiled the Speedway’s preliminary plans for hosting next summer’s 2015 Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola, which include opportunities for fans to experience the gleaming new frontstretch facility being developed as part of the historic DAYTONA Rising project.

The 57th annual Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will move from its traditional Saturday date and will be held on Sunday night, July 5 broadcast in primetime on NBC. The Subway Firecracker 250 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series race will be held on Saturday, July 4 also in primetime on NBCSN. To mark the kick-off event for NBC’s return to NASCAR, the network will work closely with the Speedway to bring enhancements to both the event and the live broadcast. Those details will be announced in the coming months.

The Sunday night date for the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola will be only for the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The 2016 Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola will return to the traditional schedule, with the Subway Firecracker 250 on Friday night, July 1 and the Coke Zero 400 on Saturday night, July 2.

Approximately 50,000 new frontstretch seats will be available for the 2015 Independence Day holiday weekend event with 40,000 seats located on the west side of the structure, from Turn 1 toward the center of the track, while 10,000 seats will be located in Turn 4. Fans seated in both locations will enjoy new amenities being created by DAYTONA Rising, including new and additional concessions and restrooms, the Speedway’s first-ever escalators and vertical transportation options, and several new “neighborhood” areas where they can socialize without missing any of the on-track action.

The 2015 Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola Weekend will take place during a crucial period in the DAYTONA Rising construction process, during which the bulk of the frontstretch construction initiatives are scheduled to take place.

“Next year’s Coke Zero 400 Weekend will be one of the most unique event experiences ever staged here,” said Chitwood. “We are as committed as always to providing our fans with a first-class Speedway experience, so we’re excited that we’ll be able to give a sneak preview of what our DAYTONA Rising project will deliver to fans once it is completed.

“The Coke Zero 400 will also launch us into the homestretch for construction, as we put the finishing touches for January 2016, when we will officially christen a new era for this Great American icon.”

Ticket details and the renewal process for 2015 Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola will be directly communicated to fans in the next two weeks. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Oct. 24. Guests with questions about 2015 Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola tickets can call the Daytona International Speedway at (877) 306-7223.

Lastly, in addition to the frontstretch seating changes, the Sprint Tower suite structure will be removed for the 2015 event. Therefore, all suites, race officiating and other functions will be moved to temporary locations throughout the Speedway for that weekend only. DIS staff is working closely with every affected industry stakeholder to make sure their needs will be met.
