WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Jamie McMurray and No. 1 Cessna Team

BMS Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) took to the high-banked half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) for the Irwin Tools Night Race Saturday under the lights. After qualifying 18th on Friday evening Jamie McMurray quickly made his way through the 43-car field, taking the lead for the first time just before the halfway mark of the 500-lap race and dominating much of the second half, leading three times for a total of 148 laps before crossing the finish line with an 8th place result.

McMurray at Atlanta: McMurray has 20 previous starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) where he has completed 6,239 of 6,450 (96.7%) laps of competition and has four top-10 finishes with an average start of 21.6 and average finish of 20. McMurray’s best finish at AMS came in Oct. 2005 when he finished sixth, his best start, third position, came in March 2009.

Crank up the #SoundGarage: The No. 1 Cessna Chevrolet will feature the Ganassi #SoundGarage logo on the decklid of McMurray’s ride this weekend in Atlanta to promote tune-in for a live-stream, social media event to take place at the Ganassi race shop on Monday Sept. 8. The event will be highlighted by a concert with Big Machine Record Label recording artist Cassadee Pope and hosted by young CGR drivers Kyle Larson, Dylan Kwasniewski, and Sage Karam.

Kyle Larson and No. 42 Target Team

BMS Recap: This week, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) returned to Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) for the annual night race. Kyle Larson and the team showed determination this weekend after their fast primary car was damaged in qualifying, forcing Larson to start the Irwin Tools Night Race in 40th position in a back-up car. Although the race was the first time the back-up car had been on the track, Larson managed to drive it to a 12th place finish.

Larson at Atlanta: This will be Larson’s first NSCS start at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has one previous start at AMS in both the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series, where he finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Bleachable Moment: Before Larson gets on track at AMS, he will pay a visit to The Clorox Company’s Forest Park plant, in Atlanta. Larson will have a chance to meet with plant employees before getting a behind-the-scenes tour of Clorox’s second largest Bleach plant.

Cartwheel Pit Stop: Larson’s primary sponsor on his No. 42 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Chevy Camaro, Cartwheel by Target, will be at the race this weekend with a display in the fan zone. Cartwheel, Target’s digital savings app, has saved users over $101 million to date. Larson, who is one of the many to have benefitted from the savings, even has his own collection of items on the app. Larson, along with members of his pit crew, will make an appearance at the Cartwheel display on Sunday from 3:40 – 3:55 p.m. ET.

A Shopping Bullseye: If you have made it to the race only to find out you’ve forgotten to pack a few necessities, there’s no need to worry. For all your last minute needs and forgotten items, Target has all of the essentials and more. The nearest Target is located at 1850 Jonesboro Rd, McDonough, Ga. and can be reached at (678) 583-2184. Call ahead and make sure they have what you need.
