From Duquoin Mile Dirt Monday To Open Testing At Kansas Speedway Wednesday, Sept 3, ARCA's On The March; Media Welcome

On the heels of the Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile dirt Labor Day Monday, the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, already in the middle of a 10-race stretch, will steer straight to Kansas Speedway for an open test Wednesday, September 3 in preparation for the 2014 grand finale - the ARCA 98.9 at Kansas coming October 3.

With just four events remaining this season, a spectacular play-off picture is in play with West Des Moines, Iowa driver Mason Mitchell locked in a tight title fight with Fairhope, Alabama's Grant Enfinger. Mitchell currently leads Enfinger by just 25 points. Frank Kimmel is also still in the hunt in third.

Teams already pre-entered for the Kansas test include Venturini Motorsports, Mason Mitchell Motorsports, Cunningham Motorsports and Team BCR.

The ARCA open test at Kansas will feature live timing and scoring at ARCAracing.com of all on-track testing, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The track will go silent for an hour at noon for lunch.

Following the race event at DuQuoin Monday, September 1, just three races remain in ARCA's 62 consecutive season: Salem Speedway September 13, Kentucky Speedway September 19 and the Kansas Speedway finale Friday night under the lights October 3.

In 13 events at Kansas, only Frank Kimmel and Alex Bowman have repeated in the win column with Kimmel getting his first win at Kansas in 2002, and again in 2006 and 2013. Kimmel's win at Kansas last year cemented the 10-time series champion as the all-time ARCA winner with 80 career victories. Bowman went back-to-back with wins at Kansas in 2011 and 2012.

The Kansas ARCA winners list is impressive and also includes Jason Jarrett (2001), Shelby Howard (2003), Ryan Hemphill (2004), Chad Blount (2005), Scott Lagasse, Jr. (2007), Scott Speed (2008), Parker Kligerman (2009), and Ty Dillon (2010).

The 14th annual ARCA 98.9 at Kansas Speedway October 3 will be live on FOX Sports 2. ARCAracing.com will also feature live timing and scoring of all on-track activity including practice, Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell and the Friday night race.
