Frustration For Nagashima On First Day At Silverstone

Tetsuta Nagashima has suffered a frustrating first day in practice for Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

The 22-year-old Japanese rider has found it difficult over the bumps of the 3.66 mile circuit and was left further behind thanks to rain interrupting his sessions when he really wanted to just knuckle down and learn the circuit and the correct line through the corners. He will now examine the data and try to improve in time for tomorrow’s qualifying session.

“It was not a great day for me as I'd had several problems during the sessions which had made me waste some time and we were also disturbed by rain during the afternoon practice, and I feel like that I just didn't have sufficient time to ride today. It is a difficult track, long and wide so that I concentrated to find the ideal line as always, but it's even more difficult when the track surface is so bumpy. However I'd improved my lap times towards the end of the second practice and I know where I'm losing the time. Regarding the data, we will work out to improve the positive points even more and will try to make the negative points better. I'll also try to refine my riding as well during the sessions tomorrow.”
