2014 Atlanta: NASCAR Sprint Cup Practice Quotes - Joey Logano

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion, posted the fastest single lap speed in Saturday’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice session. Logano, who qualified 14th for tomorrow night’s Oral-B USA 500, spoke about the session and his hopes for the race.

JOEY LOGANO - No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion - "You have to go fast for a long time here, that’s the only way to do it, but we were OK - even on the long runs. We never put new tires on it, so we kind of just kept working. We’ll see. I think the 4 car is super-fast, but I don’t think we’re far behind him. Since we never put new tires on it’s hard to say."

HOW DO YOU VIEW TOMORROW NIGHT’S RACE STARTING FROM 14TH? "Once the tires start to wear out the better car will prevail eventually. It might take a little bit of time, but eventually it will be the best. That’s why everyone is trying to make their car good on the long run."

ON TWITTER YOU SAID YOU WEREN’T FEELING VERY GOOD YESTERDAY. HOW ARE YOU TODAY? "I’m getting better. I’m 90 percent."
