Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pick Winners for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race

As usual, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo don’t agree on which team will take home the checkered flag tonight, but all four have strong picks from the field.

• Leonardo, known as the eldest and leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, selected Jeff Gordon, starting his 750th race in the ninth spot, for his strong season, calm demeanor and, of course, namesake son Leo.
• Michelangelo, the youngest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles known for his fun-loving attitude and his weaponry, picked Kyle Larson, who qualified third, as a first-time winner at Atlanta.
• Donatello, depicted as the smartest and second-in-command of the four turtles, is known for his natural aptitude for science and technology. His dream girl is April O’Neill, so he wanted to pick the next best thing, Danica Patrick. But statistics won out, and opted to go with Brad Keselowski instead, who is starting second.
• Raphael, who often experiences extremes of emotion, is usually depicted as being aggressive, sullen, maddened and rebellious. He was torn between the Busch brothers, but opted for Kurt Busch for the win.

Also at the speedway, fans of all ages will be able to enjoy end-of-the-summer activities chock-full of ‘Turtle power’. The Nickelodeon Kids Zone, located in the Fan Zone adjacent to the main entrance to the speedway, will offer free family fun with appearances from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumed characters, a TMNT photo station, micro-stock car racing, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles obstacle course, as well as a Turtles-themed cooling lounge and tattoo station. Nick Radio’s J Boogie will be broadcasting from the Nick Radio DJ booth and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumed characters will visit the Nickelodeon Kids Zone throughout race day and various surprise locations all weekend.

Special highlights of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Nickelodeon will air on the in-house monitors Saturday and Sunday before the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races. Audio will be available through the track scanner frequency.

Nickelodeon is currently airing the second season of the CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Episodes currently air on Nickelodeon on Friday’s at 7 p.m., with season three set to debut this fall.

Beginning season three, Seth Green (Robot Chicken) will join the voice cast as Leonardo alongside Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) as Raphael, Rob Paulsen (Planet Sheen) as Donatello, Greg Cipes (Teen Titans) as Michelangelo, Mae Whitman (Parenthood) as April O’Neil, Hoon Lee (Royal Pains) as Master Splinter and Kevin Michael Richardson (Penguins of Madagascar) as Shredder. Josh Peck (Drake & Josh) is Casey Jones, and Corey Feldman (The Goonies) reoccurs as Slash.
