Pole Position, Fastest Lap Of The Race And Second Absolute For Wolf GB08 At The 24 Hours Of Zolder

Wolf GB08 has been a protagonist of the 24 Hours of Zolder (B), race held last weekend.

After setting the pole position in 1'33.4, leading the closest rivals by more than two seconds, the number 45 Wolf GB08 driven by Anthony Kumpen (B), Bert Longin (B), Frank Beliƫn (B) and Ivan Bellarosa (ITA) engaged in a battle for the final win that last 23 hours and 15 minutes making all the spectators present keeping their breath.

Thanks to an uncatchable race pace worth also the fastest lap of the race (1'34.8), that was three seconds faster than the best time by everyone else, the win seemed to be the natural end of the race, but an unscheduled pit stop in the final stages for replacing the brakes relegated the team to the second absolute place. On top of this, the Wolf GB08 obtained the class victory leading the sister car driven by Guglielmo Belotti (ITA), Gianluca Pizzuti (ITA), Kurt Thiers (B) and by the young Naomi Schiff (RSA).

Giovanni Bellarosa (Wolf Racing Cars, General Manager):
"Being able to finish an extremely wearing race like the 24 hours with both entered cars shows once again the high quality of our cars and this adds on to the well known performance level of our challengers that allowed us to set the absolute pole position and to finish with a class one-two. We also set the fastest lap of the race at lap 735, which means we worked well consistency-wise. We are a bit disappointed as we did not get the absolute victory though: the five laps lost due to a contact with a lapped car played a crucial role as this forced our drivers to push hard until the end to make up for the lost time".
