Montermini / Schiro to Start Title Fight Again at Spa

After the summer break Scuderia Villorba Corse is ready to come back in the International GT Open. The team led by Raimondo Amadio will race in Belgium in the sixth round of the season with Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò behind the wheel of their #1 Ferrari 458 GT3. The event is to be held from September 6 to 8 on one of the most challenging track of them all: Spa. Entered in the Super GT class, the Italian team will aim to score some crucial points to the title fight. Actually, for the F1 driver and reigning GT Open champion from Modena and the 20-years-old 2012 European F3 open champion Spa represents a very important commitment both in the view of overall and Super GT standings as the Belgian track inaugurates the final rush of the season before Monza and Barcelona.

"We come back at Spa this season after the wonderful experience in the 24 Hours - says Amadio, Team Principal -. We can't make any mistakes, so we have to pay a particular attention in approaching it. We are confident to be competitive enough to get an important result to the championship. And we will have to pay a lesser handicap-time than in latest events, that should help us throughout the weekend."

"We can count on several data for such a challenging track - says Montermini -; we were always able to fight against all the major contenders there, it could be a good opportunity to close the gap in the standings."

Twenty GT cars are expected to get on track starting from Friday's free practice sessions. On Saturday qualifying is scheduled at 9:15 and 12:00 and race-1 will take place at 15:55. On Sunday race-2 will start at 12:55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV). TV coverage for the GT Open will count again on pan-European live coverage by Motors TV, with major national broadcasters also offering races live in United Kingdom (BT Sport), Italy (RaiSport2), Spain (Teledeporte and Canal + Deportes), Portugal (Teledeporte), Turkey (Sport TV) and Central Europe (Digisport), among others.
