Rashid Al Dhaheri Third In Parolin Academy International Finals

Merely one week after Rashid Al Dhaheri finished second in the 2015 Parolin Academy Championship, the Emirati schoolboy was back in action as brought his Italian season to a close in fine style by ending third in the prestigious Parolin Finale Internazionale Championkart, in Adria on Sunday (18 October),

Wet and tricky conditions added to the challenges during the course of the weekend in Adria, where the top Parolin drivers from around the world gathered for the season finale.

Nevertheless Al Dhaheri, one of the youngest driver in the field, was constantly on the sharp end of the action in the very competitive Academy class. He managed to secure fourth place on the grid for the final race of the season, then delivered a strong performance to claim third place and yet another podium finish - his fifth in succession always flying the UAE flag.

Speaking at the end of the season in Italy, Rashid's father, Ali Al Dhaheri said, "Another great weekend where Rashid scored another podium finish after a tough battle with his international rivals and with it bringing an end to what has been a tremendous season for our boy. We are very proud of his development and achievements."

Team Manager Fausto Ippoliti said, "Of course we were apprehensive when he made the big step up to the Parolin Academy class where he would race against older and more experienced drivers. But he proved his ability by securing five successive podiums of which two were victories. It was great to see him develop as a driver with our team around him, while also impressing the series organisers and his rivals in Italy Rashid became the 'kid to beat' as he was always among the front runners."

"With the Italian season over we will now focus on training and testing in the UAE, where Rashid will also participate in selected races - all with the view of preparing him for the 2016 season. Rashid will be turning eight years old in April and in order to keep on developing his skills, we are looking into an even more competitive championship for next season," added Ippoliti.

Final word to young Rashid Al Dhaheri who said, when interviewed by the MC during the Parolin prize giving ceremony in Adria, "I aim to be the best and always do the best I can do."
