Fabio Di Giannantonio Undergoes Successful Surgery On Right Collarbone

The 18-year-old racer from Rome sustained the injury last Thursday, February 9th, crashing in the final stages of the second and final day of testing at the Valencia Circuit.

The surgery was conducted at the Unit of Shoulder Surgery of Cattolica by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini, who inserted a plate to secure the fragments of the fracture. The surgery has been successful and “Diggia” will begin an intense rehabilitation program very soon. Di Giannantonio will be forced to miss the next test, scheduled in Jerez de la Frontera on 22 and 23 of February, but he should be back on track for the official tests scheduled from 8 to 10 of March, again at the Jerez circuit.

“The surgery went well and my morale is very high, as always! I will have to stay in hospital until Thursday, then I will begin the rehabilitation and on Monday I will be back in the gym to do some activity. Obviously it will take a bit of time before I can get back in the saddle, but I’m convinced that I will be in good shape in time for the IRTA test session in Jerez at the beginning of March”.
