Team Penske IndyCar driver Will Power and his No. 12 Chevrolet took Pole at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with a lap of 1:01.0640 / 106.118 mph. For Power, it is his first Pole of the 2017 season, and 39th career IndyCar Pole. It was also Power's seventh all-time at St. Pete - a record. Power also has 45 major open-wheel poles. It was his first Pole since Road America - race 9 - last season.

Scott Dixon and his No. 9 looked to be the man to beat during practice - and he was. But the Ganassi/Honda driver will start second.

James Hinchcliffe and his No. 5 Honda will start third with Josef Newgarden and his No. 2 Chevrolet starting fourth.

Takuma Sato and his No. 26 Honda rounded out the top five.

Next up, the IndyCar series will race on Sunday at noon.
