Alexander Rossi and his No. 27 Andretti Autosport Honda has won the Grand Prix at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. For Rossi, it is his second win of the year, and seventh of his IndyCar career.

Will Power and his No. 12 Penske Chevrolet would grab his third podium of the year, and 73rd major open wheel podium of his career.

Josef Newgarden and his No. 2 Penske Chevrolet would hold off Graham Rahal for the final podium position. Newgarden now has six podiums for the season, and 27 for his IndyCar career.

Graham Rahal would finish fourth while Scott Dixon would overcome a first lap spin to finish fifth.

In Turn Five, Scott Dixon would get spun around but resume at the rear of the field. Dixon would get on the curb, and tapped slightly from behind by Ryan Hunter-Reay.

After three laps, Rossi would lead, Herta, Power, Graham Rahal and Josef Newgarden would follow.

On Lap 13, Herta would be the first to pit - having started on the scrub red Firestone tires. He'd slap on a pair of blacks, but the pitstop was slow due to a fuel issue. Newgarden would also stop for a fresh set of tires. Rossi, Power and Rahal would all stop the next time by.

On Lap 15, Newgarden would make an on-track pass for third to get past Rahal. The order after all the pitstops was Rossi, Power, Newgarden, Hinchcliffe and Rahal. By Lap 21, Dixon would move up the order to seventh following a tussle between Herta and Simon Pagenaud.

The second round of pitstops would start in earnest on Lap 28 with Newgarden, Hinchcliffe, Dixon, Herta all stopping. On the next lap, Rossi, Power and Rahal would all stop. Rossi entered with an 18 second lead. After all the stops, the order would be Rossi, Power, Newgarden, Hinchcliffe, and Rahal.

Rossi would stop for the last time on Lap 42 to ensure he wasn't caught out by an untimely yellow flag. Power, Newgarden, and Hinchcliffe would all follow suit. Rahal would get ahead of Hinchcliffe during the stops - fourth.

On the final lap, Dixon would get past Herta for fifth.

At the front, Alexander Rossi would complete his romp to victory by nearly 30 seconds.
