By Mike Sulka

He's back! Sebastian Vettel and his No. 5 Ferrari grabbed his best result of the season winning the 2019 Formula One F1 Singapore Grand Prix. For Vettel, it is his first victory of the season, and 53rd of his career.

For Ferrari, it is the team's third victory of the season, and 238th all-time (first).

Charles Leclerc and his No. 16 Ferrari started on Pole, but dropped back on strategy. He would finish second and claim his eighth podium of the season/career.

Max Verstappen and his No. 33 Red Bull would take the last step on the podium. It is his sixth podium of the year, and 28th of his career.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) would finish fourth with Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) rounding out the top five. Hamilton continues to lead the driver's points championship by 65 points.

The field would get away relatively clean, and the leaders would all execute well. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) would lead after the all important Turn One. Behind, Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) would challenge Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) hard, but couldn't get past.

Vettel, and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) would be the first of the leaders to make a pit stop on Lap 20. They would each put on the hard (white) Pirelli compound.

Leclerc would pit the following lap, take on the hards and return to the track behind Vettel. The pair running seventh and eighth, but track position being very important.

While Hamilton would stay on track, the Ferrari pair plus Verstappen were flying on the fresh rubber. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) would pit on Lap 23, Hamilton would stop four laps later and return to the track behind Verstappen.

The order after the leader pitstops, Vettel, Leclerc, Verstappen and Hamilton with four tail-enders mixed in who had yet to pit. By Lap 32, Vettel would take the official lead of the race. One lap later, Leclerc would move into second, and Verstappen up to third.

On Lap 36, George Russell (Williams) would hit the wall, after contact with Romain Grosjean (Haas F1). The incident would bring out the Safety Car. Under the yellow, Leclerc would express concern about the undercut strategy that would benefit Vettel.

On Lap 40, racing would resume with the leaders in a line. Leclerc, Vettel, Verstappen and Hamilton.

A second Safety Car would appear on Lap 44 to clear the Racing Point driven by Sergio Perez which had pulled to the side of the track due to a mechanical issue. During which Leclerc would ask for "everything" so he could fight for the win. "I want to finish one-two, I won't do anything stupid. I just think its not fair."

Racing would resume on Lap 48. Behind, Kimi Raikkonen (Alfa Romeo) and Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) would make contact ending Raikkonen's race. The incident would bring out the third Safety Car on Lap 50.

Racing would resume on Lap 52 and run to the end without further incident.

Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari winners of the 2019 Sinapore Grand Prix!
