PR1/Mathiasen Reveals Rolex 24 At Daytona Lineup, Livery And Sponsors

Daytona, Florida - PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports has announced their lineup for the Rolex 24 At Daytona consisting of drivers Ben Keating, Mikkel Jensen, Scott Huffaker and Nicolas Lapierre in the #52 Oreca 07 LMP2. The LMP2 entry of PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports will also debut a new livery design showcasing the colors of the team main sponsor, Wynnísģ, Rain-Xģ, 4 Horsemen, Max Connect and Client Command will also be a part of PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports' 2021 Rolex 24 At Daytona sponsors program.

The Roar Before the Rolex 24 will be the official start of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship activities for the season. PR1/ Mathiasen Motorsports is coming into the Roar Before the Rolex 24 after winning the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship title in the LMP2 category. The team will use "The Roar before the Rolex 24" to acclimate themselves with their new lineup, the car, and track. The four PR1 drivers will share the wheel of the #52 Wynnísģ LMP2 for the first time at the 3-day event, in preparation for the Rolex 24.

Keating, 48, is one of the most experienced and successful bronze drivers in the sport. He has won five national championships racing with Viper, ran in the Nascar Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series in 2011, the American Le Mans Series in 2013 and won his first two national-level sports-car races in 2013. By 2015, he was driving at Le Mans, and by 2017 he was there as a driver and team owner. He has competed in five 24 Hours of Le Mans with a best finish of third, and has won the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup three times.

25-year-old Danish driver, Mikkel Jensen, will join the line-up and make his Rolex 24 debut, coming off a win at Petit Le Mans in 2020. The young Dane is the 2019 European Le Mans Series LMP3 Champion, and finished third in the LMP2 Championship in 2020 with G-Drive Racing.

20-year-old, Scott Huffaker, has a long-standing relationship with PR1/Mathiasen spanning several years. Beginning in 2016, the 20-year-old American driver raced in Pacific F2000 and climbed the open wheel ranks to win the Formula Pro USA F4 championship two years later. In 2019, he won the Team USA Scholarship while piloting the PR1/Mathiasen LMP3 to a second-place finish in the IMSA Prototype Challenge series, and in 2020 he made his LMP2 debut with the team in route to a team championship.

Frenchman, Nicolas Lapierre, 36, is a world-class endurance driver with various wins and championships, including four victories in LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and two FIA World Endurance Championships. He is also no stranger to IMSA, scoring two overall victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The three-day "Roar before the Rolex 24" will begin with practice 1 at 11:30 A.M. EST on Friday, January 22nd. PR1/ Mathiasen Motorsports will use the data obtained from the Roar to not only prepare for the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 30th but for the rest of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Ben Keating Driver #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "I am extremely excited to be coming back to the Rolex24 at Daytona again in 2021 with PR1. We had a great race last year, but I want to make the top step on the podium in January. After winning the IMSA LMP2 Championship for the last few years in a row, we know for sure that PR1 knows how to win. And, I am super excited about the driver line-up we have in this car. Clearly, we are in it to ĎWynní it.

The LMP2 field at the Rolex 24 will be the most competitive it has ever been. And, I am excited about that too. Good competition brings out the best in all competitors. If it were easy, it wouldnít be so special. And this yearís Rolex 24 at Daytona will definitely be special. There are some super solid teams in this race and I am just happy to know we are counted in that number.

I am also extremely excited to be carrying a Wynnísģ livery again in 2021. They are such a phenomenal company with such great products that we use in our dealerships every single day. It is just awesome that we can partner on the race track also. This is the type of partnership that makes racing work, and we have been able to support each other for several years now. I love the new livery and I am excited about running it in IMSA for the Rolex 24."

Mikkel Jensen Driver #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "Iím really looking forward to my debut at Daytona 24 hours. 2020 was a great season for me in LMP2 in Europe, plus additional races in IMSA at Petit Le Mans (1st) and Sebring (2nd), so I canít wait to be back at it!.

My off-season has begun and the next thing on the schedule is Daytona. Therefore, a lot of focus and dedication towards this race already which is not always the case with a busy racing calendar. Nicolas did Daytona last year in LMP2 and was very fast, so Iím super happy to have him in the team and Iím sure he will have an important influence on the car setup there. All in all, Iím sure itís no secret that we are expecting to fight for the win with this lineup and a strong team behind us. Canít wait for the Roar to begin!"

Scott Huffaker

Driver #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "Iím excited to be back racing with PR1 in my first 24 hours of Daytona. Our driver line up is very strong for this event so, hopefully we can pick up right where we left off in Sebring."

Nicolas Lapierre Driver #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "Itís a big pleasure to come back in Daytona with a great team and a super strong lineup. The LMP2 field will be super competitive in 2021 and it will be for sure a tough battle to go on the top step of the podium. The package PR1 has put together will certainly be one of the best one in our category.

Ray Mathiasen Team Principal #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "Bobby has assembled an outstanding driver lineup to begin our quest for another Championship in 2021. Anything can happen in a 24 hour race but these drivers are well positioned to allow us to continue the momentum from our very successful 2020 program. I couldn't be any more enthusiastic about our chances this coming year. I can only hope we'll be able to attend more of our races and there will be more fans in the stands."

Bobby Oergel Team Principal #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 LMP2 "As we all learn more about the different programs and teams coming to this yearís 24, I canít help but feeling like it will be off the charts in terms of depth in the P2 category. Adding to that I feel so fortunate to have Ben, Mikkel, Scott and Nicolas all together in our #52 PR1/Mathiasen car this year. These guys are all amazing in the cockpit.

Last year at this event, Ben was so very strong for our team and I am sure that will be the same once again this year. Scott was with us for the endurance events later in last yearís program, where he did a superb job in all aspects and continues to prove he is a true young gun for sure. We only know Mikkel and Nicolas from having to compete against them in years past and for sure I am relieved to have them in house for this yearís 24, as both of them are really tough to compete against.

From my perspective the program feels great from the start and we havenít even made seats yet. The 2020 season was amazingly tough for everyone, and I canít say how proud I am of our whole PR1/Mathiasen crew for the efforts everyone made in such a tough environment. Now itís all about adding another the Rolex 24 win to the mantle!

Iíd really like to personally thank Wynnísģ, Rain-Xģ, 4 Horsemen, Max Connect and Client Command for helping us put this program in place for the 2021 Daytona 24 hours."
